philly 1-30-2004

finally home for a stretch and am taking all my time to be productive in the mighty 1k studio...feels good!
after being lost for a week somewhere in scotland, the scottish dance theatre received the digital masters for my new 25 minute composition for their 2004 tour and evidently are very happy with the results...i spent many hours eq-ing and generally mastering the sound files...i was happy overall with the results and can't wait to
see their performance as they are designing lighting and costuming now for the UK debut in February...next project will be starting tracks for Burnt Freidman and Can's Jaki Leibezeit for their next record on non-place. i'm very excited about this, of course, and will try to find some new sounds and areas to explore in their music...and, finally, i've been putting finishing touches on a collection of my solo/vocal tracks this weekend "sad songs of the future man"...more to come...

it's been an amazing process working here at SDT. a wonderful daily routine of rising @ 8am to breakfast then taxi to SDT where i played a dance class everyday for an hour +1/2...then into working and developing individual musical ideas along with sean feldman exploring his choreographic approach. this went on daily for 7 days more or less...with some late nights editing and arranging on the laptop...saturday was a break through day as 2 of the 9 pieces that were troubling me came around.
wind-downs: solo outing on thursday nite around to a few pubs, dca, and the reading room for indie band soundtrack...friday out with the sdt crew...ales and then an incredible italian meal for 10...saturday to the artbar then dancing at the reading room until 3am...topped off with chips,cheedar, and coleslaw...
sunday: dca then to jackie anderson's studio to check her amazing paintings: www.jackieanderson.co.uk (check her out)...with a finish at jackie's house with a wonderful homecooked meal...it does'nt get anybetter than this...wonderful new friends all around...i'll miss these guys....cheers!

two planes, a train, and a cab...and i'm in dundee...working on a composition for their 2004 tour...gonna be an amazing process to work with dancers of this calibre and a wonderful coreographer sean feldman...more to come.

krass bros @ the tower theatre

happy new year!!! last night we (the krass bros)
mark boyce, barry meehan, ulysses, and myself
rocked the tower theatre as part of the insomniac tour featuring hilarious comedians lewis black and dave atell...quite a party...brought in the new year with james brown's have a funky good time...too much fun....afterward winddown with the crew at warehouse party dj's playin 60's70's80's - dance floor was packed...the right party!!! off to scotland
