NOTES FROM THE ROAD
sister gertrude morgan exp @ worldcafe
Sunday, November 13, 2005

the last two days were spent mostly at wxpn and world cafe live. sister gertrude morgan experience (live band + live visuals) played for a national noontime broadcast on wxpn, david dye's world cafe interview with king + myself (broadcast date jan 13 2006) as well as the katrina benefit on saturday nite there, at world cafe live.
over 500 folks made it out to this amazing nite for philadelphia. i played with ursula rucker + gintus janusonis (drums), as well as Sister G later that night...from my perspective one of the finest collections of philly musicians on stage with the sister...it was a joy to play the music and even get to let the guitar fly...sister allows me to fly...everyone involved killed it....king britt (many props!!!),,,

woke up to a wonderful note from my friend and fellow producer enrico mariani from reggio emilia, italy:
Ciao caro amico
This just to say that “snow born sorrow” is a truly rare wonderful record. A small jewel to be listened during a winter afternoon.
I’ve in mind especially track 4 “atom and cell”.
“The day the earth stole heaven” is very bluesy and jazzy, so full of color than the last David solo album! I love it.
Sometimes the world seems so grey, so you take your car and drive through the city, enter in a record shop and buy a record like this, and the air change taste listening to it....
You’ve done a good work with a great artist.
Grazie e.
