been some personal bumps in the road this week,
some major disappointments from colleagues, some hurtles to deal with, c'est la vie...certainly on the flipside, some really wonderful opportunites as well. A new 1k release - very excited about the upcoming tilomo - soft lunch release. today met with ben langsfeld (he is 1/2 of the mighty eneone design company situated in philly and LA - where the other half- thomas schmid resides-certainly both superstars on the realm) i saw the first re-glimpse of the cover art and design. i'm very excited. everything seems to be in place with design + manufacturing. thom's art is beautiful and inspiring, and i do believe the postcards+ 11x17 posters will be collectibles...haha...at least in my house! hoping to have product by mid-feb, so get those credit cards ready...this has been along time coming. yesterday, the mighty trumpeter john swana visited nautica and played some fine horn on new barry meehan (lead to gold), and ellie perez (world gone mad) tracks...a pleasure, as always, hanging with him. a post-session hit at my favorite place 'brigid's', and a wrap up in my living room listening to jon hassel, supersilent 6, kenny wheeler, radiohead, and alice coltrane. a nice way to end a wonderful day.
other news, we finally finished 'the doors' remix of 'i can't see your face in my mind' (peyote mix)...whew.
it's a journey - psychedilc tour de force...hoping the estate enjoy as much as we do...it was an honour to work on this track. on a totally different note, new territory for us, we've just finished music for a 40 sec commercial for ford uk...which we love...fingerscrossed that the creatives there will as well. the music business - a life of possiblities...keeps it interesting all the time.
tomorrow transferring SV files to begin the mix...
and continuing with final tracking and compiling of nu cultures 2.....looking forward to j davidson (he of steve winwood fame) stopping in to contribute some piano and audio advice...cheers.
